House. C17, with mid C19 addition and C20 alterations. Coursed
squared stone; Welsh slate roof with pantiles to addition; stone
coping and ridges; stone stacks. C17 part of 2 storeys with attic,
3 bays; 2-storey, 2-bay C19 additions on right. C17 part: chamfered
plinth. Doorway to right of centre with late C20 studded board
door, chamfered surround and deep lintel. Windows of 3 lights to
right, of 2 + 1 lights and 1 light to left, all having C20 leaded
wooden casements. Continuous cyma-moulded hoodmould. On 1st floor
three 2-light windows, that to left a leaded casement, those on
right with 12-pane side-sliding sashes. Carved block kneelers.
Large external end stacks with shouldering and corniced ashlar
tops. C19 addition: 4 windows on ground floor, that on left formerly
a doorway, and 2 above, all having small-pane side-sliding sashes,
stone lintels and projecting cills. Stack at right end and to
ridge at centre. Rear in C17 part: chamfered plinth. Opposing
doorway has chamfered quoined surround and deep lintel with triangular
soffit. Chamfered mullioned windows, on ground floor of 2 lights
(altered), 2 lights and 3 lights (altered); on 1st floor 3 of 1
light. Continuous ground-floor hoodmould. C20 extension on left
not of special interest. Left return: the stack is corbelled at
the front at lst-floor level; on right of stack a small attic oculus
with cyma-moulded cornice. Interior: C17 part: left room has
large-scantling chamfered cross-beam with triangular stops, and
formerly there was a large open fireplace with timber bressumer.
Right-hand room has large, segmental-arched, stone fireplace with
chamfered surround and probably a former bread-oven on left side;
chamfered cross-beam; moulded joists.
