GV II

House, formerly farmhouse. Late C18, extended C19. Red brick in Flemish
bond, hipped slate roof, brick lateral stack to left. T-plan. 3-storey, 3-
window principal range, 2-storey wing. Main block has slightly recessed
entrance bay to right with 6-panel, part-glazed door and fanlight and round-
arched gauged brick head. 2-storey canted bay window to left with 12-pane
sash windows and limestone dressings. 12-pane sash window to 1st floor
right with gauged brick flat-arched head, and 6-pane sashes to 2nd floor
with similar heads. Limestone plinth, ground floor sill band, storey bands
and moulded wood eaves cornice. 2-storey wing to right altered late
C19/early C20 with paned sashes to ground and 1st floors. Attached single-
storey former outbuilding range to far right of coursed limestone and
ironstone rubble with casement windows and Swithland slate roof.
Interior noted as having large wood chimneypiece with garlanded columns.
Chequered marble paving to hall with black diamond insets and open-well
stair from ground floor to attic with stick balusters.
