GV II

Group of 4 small monumental headstones and one footstone. All early C18. Lime-
stone. Three in a row side by side, from left to right respectively commemo-
rating:

(1) Elizabeth Bickley (d.1721): shaped top, elegantly lettered inscription includ-
ing couplet "Lo, Here Man's Fare
Either Soon or Late"

(2) Ann Bickley (d.1719): shaped top, elegantly lettered inscription including
couplet "My eerly blast
Bids no time waste"

(3) Margaret, wife of Will Thorne, (d.1704): swan-neck top, elegantly lettered
inscription including verse; and approximately 2 metres west of this the head-
stone and footstone of:

(4) John Watkin (d.1723): similar to the above but with carved skull-and-cross-
bones above the inscription; and small shaped footstone inscribed "JW 1723".
