East window - Transfiguration and The Last Supper. The loss of colour tones is due to the glassmakers supplying borax based glass, which melts at a conveniently low temperature (asked for by the colourists). Unfortunately, it is slightly soluble in water, and the surface is degraded in wet or damp conditions. (Photo Aug 2007).
