Town house in row. C17, refronted C18 or early C19. Painted
rubble front; steep dry slate roof; brick end stacks; original
rubble stack at rear wing gable removed c1980. Deep L-shaped
plan including rear wing: the 2-room front range has heated
hall/kitchen to left of originally unheated service room. 2
storeys; 2-window range. C20 four-pane horned sashes; doorway
right of middle with C20 partly-glazed door. INTERIOR much
altered c1980 but retains some C18 or early C19 floor and roof
structures. During building work two C17 two-light mullioned
windows were discovered plastered over: an ovolo-moulded
window beside chimney breast of rear wing and a leaded glazed
window with original lozenge-paned fixed light and a later C17
or C18 opening casement with rectangular panes, to rear of
1st-floor right-hand chamber. The glazed window is now in the
Penryn Museum.
