National school, now hall. 1837 datestone. Granite ashlar
front with plinth, rusticated quoins; pointed hoodmoulds;
cavetto-moulded cornice to parapet broken by central open
pediment; hipped asbestos slate front roof with 2 gabled
dormers, scantle slate to larger rear wing. Rectangular front
range plus parallel rear wings at right angles, the deeper
wing on right bridging river. Single storey; symmetrical
4-window 2:1:2-bay Gothic-style road frontage with blind
ashlar windows and central doorway, all with pointed arches.
Rear has old windows boarded over under segmental brick
arches. INTERIOR: scissor-truss roof structure to main roof. A
distinguished example.
