Retaining walls and stairways. c1830, restored 1981-2.
Designed by Decimus Burton. Render over rubble or brick.
Symmetrical in plan: East side, 2 sections of retaining wall
returned to SE corner of Adelaide Crescent No 1 (qv) with
stairway down to Kingsway at east end, west end of wall marks
roadway access to the Crescent. Walls slightly splayed out,
composed of vermiculated rustication with bottle balusters and
moulded coping between square piers; solid baluster panels to
stairway. Designed as part of the original layout to Adelaide
Crescent.
