6/132 Stables at Hartsbarn Farm
GV II
Former stables and granary, now store. C18. Thin random rubble,
with slate roof. 3 bay, 2 storey: boarded door, slightly to
right of centre with shuttered opening above to loft: to right a
shuttered window with heavy timber frame, this and door having
timber lintel and plain stone hoodmould. To left wide later
opening. Dog-leg flight of steps to right-hand gable, door
similar to ground-floor. One truss with 2 collars, one with tie
beam and collar, former cut by door frame and reinforced by braces
to beam below. 2 pairs purlins and square ridge. Included for
group value, facing onto front garden of house.
