Pair of cottages, former small house. Late C16. Timber framing and render with
some exposed framing and black weatherboarding on south end. One storey with
attics and half hipped thatched roof. Front has one off-centre large eyebrow
dormer and 2 very small brick ridge line stacks. Windows are C19 and C20 small
pane casements and No. 9 has C20 rear extension. Former small open hall house
with C17 inserted floors. Straightish internal plank wall bracing and arched
braces to tie beams. Remnant of diamond mullions windows. Roof is of simple
rafter/collar form, but with short side purlins tenoned into gablet rafters. The
north east bay is C17/C18 extensions and a C20 lean-to extension on south west
end.
