Public House. Late C16, C17 and C18. In 3 sections. Left
section: late C16. Painted brick ground floor timber-framed
with painted brick infilling on first floor and plain tile
roof. Widely spaced studs with one tension brace at each end.
2 low storeys on plinth. Rear stack slightly off-centre to left
in rear slope of roof. One C20 first-floor window towards right,
with C20 half-glazed door at left end of it. Post box at right
end. Central section: C17. Timber-framed with painted brick
nogging and plain tile roof. 2 storeys, much taller than left
section, and first floor considerably taller than ground floor.
Framing of light scantling with widely-spaced studs. Pro-
jecting boxed eaves. Ridge stack at right end. One first-
floor 3-light casement off-centre to left, and C20 4-light
casement to left on ground floor. C20 boarded door at right
end with bracketted flat hood over. Right section: early to
mid C18. Slightly higher than central section. Painted brick
with plain tile roof. 2 storeys, attics and cellar with plinth,
plat band and moulded wood eaves cornice. Projecting stack
at right gable end. 2 hipped dormers. Regular fenestration
of 2 large early Cl9 tripartite sashes on each floor. Recessed
panel between first-floor windows. No sign of blocked door.
