Circa 1850. Architect William Flint. Very large factory building, rectangular on plan, built of purple bricks with slate hipped roof, with modillions to eaves soffit and stuccoed frieze. Gabled dormers. Five storeys and attic.
East side, nine windows and three window projection on left and narrow projection on right. Segmental brick arches, metal frame windows with glazing bars. Rising from roof off centre is Italianate style tower of red brick with three-light round-arched bell openings and modillion cornice to pyramidal roof with ornate wind-vane. Ground, first and second floors of east elevation obscured by later addition. Left hand return four windows. Right hand return two windows. West elevation fourteen windows. Bands at first and third floor levels.
