Two or 3 houses or inn, now 2 shops. Probably late C16 or early C17, with later
alterations. Timber framed, rendered; graduated stone slate roof. U-shaped plan,
with central passage giving access to 2 rear wings. 3 storeys, 1:1 bays. Front
elevation has second-floor jetty. Central passage is flanked by C20 shop fronts, not
of special interest. Second-floor jetty is carried on 4 first-floor Doric half-
columns with pronounced entasis; their bases are not visible. They form a narrow
central bay over the passage, which has a sash window with glazing bars in flush
exposed sash box, and wide outer bays each with a segmental bow window, with sashes
to left, and sashes with 8:16:8 panes to right. The second floor has 4 unevenly-
