Terrace of 4 houses. c. 1856. For James and George Wilson.
Brick with hipped slate roof. 2 storeys, 6 bays, end bays
break forward. Windows have gauged-brick cambered arches
and are sashed with glazing bars. End bays have
rectangular bay windows with hipped roofs and small-paned
casements that to 6th bay altered. Entrances have gauged-
brick cambered arches, overlights with glazing bars and 4-
flush-panel doors. No. 18 has timber gabled porch with
lattice panels probably original. Returns have C20 flat-
roofed projections. 3 cross-axial stacks. Rears have lean-
to wings. Part of a planned village for Price's Patent
Candle Company, one of the earliest examples of a model
industrial village.
