7/68 Nos 1, 2 and 3 Parkgate Cottages

GV II

Row of three cottages. Mid C18. Dressed limestone, tiled roof
with rendered stacks and coped verges. Two-storey, 6-window;
casements. Nos 1 and 2 retain C19 gabled porches with wavy barge
boards and planked doors, No 1 has 2-light recessed chamfered
mullioned casement to right, No 2 has two mullioned casements, No 3
has 2-light casement in blocked doorway and 2-light casement
inserted into former mullioned casement. First floor has four 2-
light leaded casements and two wooden casements to No 2. No 3 has
single-storey extension to right and planked entrance door to rear,
2-light casements to rear. Interior not inspected. Attached to
front is good stone wall with half-round coping and two C19
spearhead gates and one C20 wooden gate. Group occupies important
position at road junction, opposite gates to Donhead Hall (q.v.)
