Detached house. C18, additions and alterations early and mid C19.
Rubble stone with early C19 east wing in yellow Flemish bond brick,
tile roof with fishscale tiles, brick stacks. L-plan. Two-storey,
3-windowed east entrance front; central door with 8 fielded panels
in panelled reveals with side lights and 12-pane tripartite sashes
to slightly projecting side bays, first floor has three 12-pane
tripartite sashes, stepped brick eaves course, projecting brick
quoins. Left return is 2-storey, 9-window garden front; three
French windows, two sashes and three C20 casements to ground floor,
first floor has group of five sashes to left in mid C19 addition,
to right are four sashes in C18 build, remodelled during early C19
with brick quoins and stepped eaves course, attic with three C19
six-pane sashes to hipped dormers half above eaves with scrolled
volutes. Attached to right is single-storey C20 flat-roofed
extension. Rear service courtyard partly enclosed by C19 wings.
Interior has early C19 entrance and stair hall in east wing, stairs
with two turned balusters to open string treads. Drawing room
reputed to have C18 full raised and fielded panelling with enriched
cornice.
