WATERSTOCK
Waterstock Mill Bridge
GV
II
Bridge. C18, possibly partly earlier. Limestone rubble and brick with some
ashlar dressings. The rubble parapets, with stone and rounded-brick copings, are
interrupted on the east side by Waterstock Mill (q.v.) which is integral with
the bridge. North of the mill are 2 segmental brick arches with a concentric
projecting course linked to the stone keyblocks; the channel passing under the
mill emerges in a flat-arched opening with central, probably inserted, division;
south of the mill are 2 plainer brick arches, the parapets being continued to
the east as walls bounding the channel. At the north end of the bridge the
parapets curve outwards to square ashlar piers.
