Public House, C16 with early C17 and later alterations. Main range of one
storey and attics. 3-cell plan. Timber-framed and plastered. Plaintiled
roof (rear slopes replaced 1986 by pantiles). 3 C19 gabled casement dormers.
An axial C17 chimney of red brick. 3 mid C20 flat-roofed splayed bay windows
with casements, and a half-glazed entrance door. To left is an early C19
extension: Timber-framed and weatherboarded. 2 storeys. 2 windows. Small-
pane sashes. To right is a C20 2-window clubroom extension. Interior: C16
close-studding in the parlour block to left, with an inserted C17 mullioned
window in the gable. 1st floor structure with joists laid flat, of C17
appearance. Lintelled C17 open fireplaces.
