Rectory, now house. c.1819. By J. Ackermann for Hon Frederick Bertie. Limestone
ashlar; stone-slate roof and stone stacks. Front range plus 2 parallel rear
wings and subsidiary range. Tudor style. 2 storeys plus attics. Entrance front
has central porch with 4-centred archway and recessed spandrels with
quatrefoils. Above is a 2-light window and a blind gable supporting a broad
stone stack. To right are windows of one and 2 lights and a lower wing with
3-light windows. Garden front to left has projecting gable wall of front range
and a large canted bay. Further large windows at rear. All main gables have
stone parapets, and windows are mullioned with 4-centred lights and labels.
Small projecting rear wing has some possibly C17 brickwork. Interior: Large
stair hall with open-well stair; moulded cornices with Tudor ornament;
Tudor-arched fireplaces; vaulted cellar.
