Three houses; built as one probably in late C16 or early C17. 3-cell plan.
Two storeys and attics. Timber-framed and plastered; some C18 herringbone
pargetting, much restored in C20. Thatched roof: an axial chimney with
rebuilt shaft of C19 red brick; another C19 internal end chimney to left. Two
C18 3-light casements at 1st storey of Nos. 53 and 55. Remaining windows
replaced with late C20 casements. 3 C19 entrance doorways with simple
pediments. No.53 has a boarded C19 door, No.51 a C20 framed and boarded door,
and No.55 a half-glazed panelled door. No.55 has a one-window C19 extension
to right with lower-pitched pantiled roof. No.53 has unchamfered ceiling
joists of late C16 type. Remaining interiors not examined.
