Red House Cottage

House. C16 with early C18 alterations. Timber framed and plastered, with C20
panelled plasterwork at the front. Pantiled roof with glazed black tiles to
the front slope. 2 storeys and attic. 2 windows, C19 small-paned casements.
To right a doorway with 4-panelled door, rectangular fanlight and bracketed
flat hood. Internal stack, the exterior portion of the shaft now removed.
Some C16 framing is visible on the upper floor. The walls were raised by
about one metre in early C18. The north end of this range was rebuilt as Red
House (qv. Item No. 7/104).
