Milestone. C18 or early C19. Cast-iron triangular pillar with two cast-iron shields, the north one with TO / SARUM / 2 / MILES, the south plate with TO / SOUTHTON / 20 / MILES.
The Southampton to Salisbury Turnpike was complete by circa 1775.
