4/174 Brunton Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse. Circa 1820-40. Large module brick in Flemish bond,
laid in white mortar. Slate roof. Two storeys, 3 wide bays with
2-storey porch added to centre bay. Four-panelled door over 6
steps, flanked by narrow round-headed windows, and similar windows
on side returns. Plat band. Upper window of porch has 6-
panelled single hung sash with stone sill and dripmould. Shaped
gable, also with narrow slit window. Side bays have similar 6-
paned sashes and louvred shutters. Finely gauged brick lintels.
Wide eaves. Two cogged stacks. Gable end has C20 windows and
plat band and later C19 wavy barge boards to shallow pitched roof.
