House with attached former post office and shop. C16 or C17 origins, extended and largely rebuilt c.1840, altered C20. Timber frame, plastered in panels, some red brick. Shallow hipped slate roofs. 3 bay house with lower bay to right and 2 bays with shop to left. All 2 storeys. Ground floor: brick base, central entrance with a 2 arched panelled architraved door, shallow 'Doric' porch with a dentilled pedimental hood, fluted columns, single glazing bar sashes with a hoodmould to left. First floor 8:8 pane sashes, all in shallow reveals. Boxed eaves. 2 axial white brick stacks on rear slope to outer bays. Right bay is set back slightly with 2-light glazing bar casements, a red brick axial stack on rear slope. Set back to left is a former post office and shop, ground floor C20 projecting shopfront, first floor recessed fixed 9 pane window, extended to left with an entrance. To rear roofs continue over 1 storey and attic lean-to's, red brick faced to right. Interior: right hand bays have some early studding with a chamfered axial binding beam and stop chamfered joists, C19 staircase with moulded and swept handrail. First floor not inspected.
