6/33 The Tudor Cottage

House, latterly 2 dwellings. Mid to late C16, altered and reroofed C20.
Timber frame, plastered. Steeply pitched machine pantiled roof. Small 3 cell
lobby entry plan. 1 storey and attic. Entrance towards right, a 4 panelled
door in an open C20 porch, C20 2-light casements, a 2-light gabled dormer.
Ridge stack to right of centre with rebuilt capping. Left end attic window,
C20 boarding and garage addition. To rear original 3,4 and 5-light first
floor diamond mullioned windows, C20 3-light ground floor windows, a lean-to
outshut to left. Interior: exposed studding of large scantling, stop
chamfered binding beams, joists and fireplace bressumer, reverse curved arched
braces in walling at both ends, an arched brace to cambered tie beam through
which a doorway was always cut.
