House. Probably mid to late C18, altered mid C19. Coursed sandstone rubble with
ashlar dressings and hipped two-span slate roof. Large external rubble end stacks
with offsets and tall brick stacks. Two storeys with yellow brick dentilled eaves
cornice. Three bays. Windows have cambered heads partly concealed behind blind
boxes. On the ground floor are two tripartite sash windows with central 12-pane
sashes and on the first floor there are 20-pane sashes in the outer bays and a
central 16-pane sash. The central entrance has a flat moulded canopy on wrought
iron brackets, a moulded architrave, panelled reveals and soffit, half-glazed double
doors and a transom light with lattice glazing bars. A lean-to addition at the
left end has C19 canted bay window with a moulded architrave and a central 12-pane
sash in its front elevation. To the rear of this addition is a C19 single-storey
brick service wing.
