Country house. c1790 attributed to James Wyatt. Bath stone ashlar,
hipped stone slate roof. Double depth plan with central entrance and
stair well, grouped axial stacks. Three storeys, attics and cellars
with mezzanine floor to north-east corner. Main front, 2:1:2 by four
bays; plinth, string course and dentilled eaves cornice, central
pedimented slightly forward break, plain sash windows, Venetian window
in semi-circular-headed arch to first floor; late C19 cast iron porch,
half-glazed door. Interior largely intact retaining fine ramped stair-
case, panelled doors some with inlay and main rooms with stuccoed ceil-
ing decoration, also contemporary fireplaces. House focal point of
landscaped park laid out by Repton, 1797; seat of Hereford family.
