House with adjoining conservatory. c.1800 and late C19. Brick
with stucco front and dressings and hipped slate roof. 4
rendered coped lateral stacks. 2 storeys, 4 bays. Square plan.
South elevation has a rendered plinth, rusticated ground floor,
first floor band, enriched eaves cornice and plain coped parapet.
Front has a central plain portico with square piers and flat
coped parapet, and beneath it, a C19 half glazed margin light
door with flanking lights and a triple overlight. Above it, a
glazing bar sash with a moulded eared architrave. Beyond, on
either side, a shallow segmental 2 storey bay window, each
flanked by fluted pilasters, and each with a margin light glazing
bar sash, those to the first floor having moulded eared
architraves. To the right, a 2 storey service wing with a glazing
bar sash on each floor. North side has a partial granite rubble
plinth, a central full height glazing bar sash, and above it a
smaller similar sash, both with segmental heads. Beyond, on
either side, a shallow segmental 2 storey bay window, each with a
margin light glazing bar sash on each floor. The ground floor
sashes have rubbed brick heads. To the left, the service wing
has a triple sash and above, a margin light glazing bar sash,
both with segmental heads. East side has a central C20 door and
beyond, on either side, a small lean-to outbuilding. Above the
door, a glazing bar sash with segmental head. West side has a
full width cross gabled conservatory, late C19, by Messenger of
Loughborough, with patterned glazing bars in the upper lights,
and patterned crest and finials.
