Original offices to mill. Probably 1851. Hadspen stone cut and squared; Welsh slate roof between coped gables. Two
storeys; 5 bays plus later linking bay to mill building proper. Sash windows of 16 panes in plain openings with
voussoirs and keystones to flat arches set proud, no window lower bay 3: Entrance door of C20 lower bay 1. Link
extension to match, but sash windows are 4-pane. Interiors somewhat modified. Part of the original horsehair and
general weaving establishment of John Boyd, relocated from South Cary (Chapel Yard House, qv) to the grounds of
Ochiltree House (qv) in 1851. (McGarvie M, Castle Cary: Avalon Industries, 1980).
