School, 1876, restored late C20. Coursed and squared ironstone
and artificial stone, with moulded brick and ashlar dressings,
chamfered plinth, coped gables with kneelers and finials,
billeted moulded brick eaves, coped grouped brick ridge stack and
late C20 lateral brick stack. Single and 2 storeys, 3 unequal
bays. L-plan. Front has to right a projecting gabled wing with
a buttress to left, a moulded pointed doorway with recessed C20
glazed door, and to its right a canted bay window with a 2 light
cross mullioned window with plain sashes and single flanking
sashes. Above, to left, a blank roundel and to right, a
mullioned double sash. Above again, to left, a stepped pyramidal
base carrying a restored octagonal louvred wooden bell turret
with cross gabled leaded cap topped by an ornate wind vane.
Beyond, to right, a hipped corner porch with a close boarded
door. Beyond to left, set back range with 2 two light mullioned
casements. Beyond again, gabled wing with a coped lean-to porch
on each side. Central gable has a graduated transomed triple
lancet window with casements. Each porch has a chamfered 4
centred arched doorway with a close boarded door. Porches have
at the side, 3 small casements with chamfered surrounds. East
gable has a graduated triple lancet opening with casements. West
gable, rebuilt late C20, has 2 small casements, and to left,
porch with a similar casement. Above, 2 casements. Above again,
a blank quatrefoil.
