Bridge. Dated 1797. Painted cast iron with grey sandstone ashlar
abutments. Single elliptical span consisting of 4 ribs with panelled and
circular-pierced spandrels, and keystone dated: "CAST/AT COALBROOK/
DALE/1797"; curved abutments with square end piers; cast iron Gothic
balustrade with curved stanchions and moulded handrail. The bridge
spans the Cound Brook. The C18. balustrade is now set in a low C20
concrete parapet probably replacing an C18 cast iron or sandstone one.
