Shown on O.S. map as Pentre-Cefn Hall.
Farmhouse. Probably late C17 with later additions and alterations.
Painted uncoursed limestone rubble, slate roof. Central hall range
of 2 bays flanked by gabled cross-wings. 2 storeys with attics to
cross-wings; 1:2:1 windows, C20 casements in stone surrounds; gabled
porch in angle with right gable has elliptical outer arch and 6-panel
inner door (top panels now glazed), Victorian floor tiles; external
stone stacks to cross-wings and back wall of hall range have late C19
yellow brick twin diagonal shafts. Gabled projection to left of rear
stack houses staircase, late C19 lean-tos below to left and right.
Interior: chamfered cross beam in main ground-floor room; late C17
newel staircase in gabled projection to rear rises to attic, elaborately
decorated newels with carved finials, moulded handrail, twisted balusters
and pendants. The decoration on the newel posts is identical to
that on the newel post of the staircase at Pentre-Uchaf (q.v.).
