Farmhouse. Late C16, early C17 additions. Rendered facade, random rubble, slate
hung half hipped South East elevation of main block, slate roof, large external
stone stack to right of junction of entrance block and main block, another tall
stone stack set into wall to right with projecting bread oven of cob, slate
roofed as part of single storey lean-to along facade. L-shaped plan: 3 rooms and
cross passage facing East with attached service block North West, entrance now
through latter. 2 storeys, 3 bay; first floor 3-light mullioned windows, 2-light
flanking central door with 4-centred arch openings, inner one with early plank
door. Outshut at rear. Interior: jointed cruck trusses with two 4-centred arch
openings to outshut and chamfered beams. Projecting wing to right - main block -
has only a 2-light mullion window on this its rear elevation with 5-light
casements on main elevation. Slate hung return; because of sloping ground there
it a cellar above ground at this South East end with fine late C16 studded door,
protected by external C20 porch. interior; stud and panel partitions on either
side of central room, 8-panel hollow chamfered beat ceiling, staircase in bay
beside fireplace outer room right. Pair of exposed jointed cruck trusses at
South East end.
