Farmhouse. Early C17, altered early C19. Rendered random rubble and cob, steeply
pitched slate roof with tie beams projecting under eaves, rendered stack left
and right. 2 storeys 3 bays; 2-light casements with glazing bars 1st floor,
2-light casements with plate glass flanking central gabled, slate roofed porch
with round headed opening, C20 door. Interior: right-hand room ground floor,
winder stair in bay to right of fireplace, left-hand bay probably contained
bacon curing chamber, evidence of blocked doorway, blocked windows elsewhere,
proberly original service end of 3-room and cross passage dwelling. Chamfered
beams with stops in left-hand room. Reputedly the original Stawley Manor.
