Farmhouse. Early C18, possibly incorporating C17 core, with late C19
additions. Red brick rebuilding of possibly timber framed house,
C19 coursed rubble additions with red brick dressings; plain tile roofs.
Main range aligned north-south with C19 rebuilding to north and additions
to west. 2 storeys and attic. East front: plat band to left, dentil
brick eaves cornice to C19 right-hand addition, and crowstepped gable
end to left; external brick end stack to left, integral brick end stack
to right, and central external lateral brick stack to rear. 3-window
front; mainly segmental-headed with 3-light C19 wooden casements, first-
floor 2-light casement to right with segmental relieving arch and blocked
ground-floor segmental-headed window below; inserted C20 segmental-
headed window to right; central C20 glazed door with side lights and
lean-to plain tile porch on curved brackets. Straight joint off-centre
to right with right-hand part set back, and straight joint to left of
central first-floor window. Fire insurance plate No. 2178 on east
front. Right-hand part of facade partly obscured by farmbuildings,
adjoining at right angles (qv). C19 wing at rear. Interior: chamfered
ceiling beams, open fireplace with chamfered lintel; early C18 dog-leg
staircase with winders, square newel posts, and moulded handrail.
Farmbuildings adjoining to east (qv) incorporate parts of an earlier
house.
