Farmhouse. Probably C17, partly re-modelled c.1774 with later additions
and alterations. Rendered timber frame on high red brick plinth with red
brick range to rear, plain tile roof. T-plan with lower C19 brick range
added behind short range to rear. 2 storeys and gable-lit attic; two
C20 casements to first floor, ground floor has round-arched gabled brick
porch to left with C20 half-glazed door, C20 casement to left of centre
and contemporary canted bay window to right; external end stack to right
has top re-built in late C19 red brick; plat-band and end stack to brick
range to rear. Interior: newel staircase (balusters boxed in) at junction
between main ranges, chamfered ceiling beams throughout with ogee stops;
roof not inspected but said to have curved principals. V.C.H. VIII(1968) p.94.
