Outbuilding. Late Cl8 incorporating C17 features. Coursed squared
gritstone, graduated stone slate roof. Quoins. 2 storeys, 4 bays, linked
to the corner of Weston Hall west (entrance) range by a wall approximately
2 metres high and pierced by a shallow triangular headed gateway in a
chamfered quoined surround. Three 2-panel doors in plain stone surrounds,
the left and centre doors separated by a 4-light flat-faced mullion window;
a similar window to first floor. Bulbous kneelers and moulded gable coping,
lateral stack to rear bay 1. Left return: paired 16-pane sashes in stone
surround to first floor; clock in gable. Interior: left room has remains of
large fireplace against rear wall and stone stairs in the wall thickness.
The building housed the generator when the house was wired for electric
lighting in c1887. Included for group value.
