House. Late C16. Extended twice in C17, further extended in C19 and
early C20. Timber frame, red brick nogging, part rendered. Extended in
stock brick, largely stuccoed. Tiled roofs. Originally 3 bay lobby entry
with 2 bays added to rear of service end in separate builds to form an L
plan. 2 storeys. Ground floor: entrance between 2 right bays, plank
door, later gabled and hipped entrance porch, to right a 3 light flush
timber casement, to centre a 2 light casement, exposed posts and studs,
to left an entrance and a 2 light casement. First floor exposed mid
rail, posts and studs, 2 light casement to right, broad 16 pane sash to
centre. Original cross axial stack behind entrance. C17 additions on
cement rendered left return have a hall and cross wings appearance.
Original left gable end has a ground floor canted bay, first floor sash.
First addition has a ground floor sash, first floor tripartite sash,
dentilled timber eaves, large multiform axial ridge stack where wing
joins front range. C19 gabled porch where this bay meets gable fronted
second addition, ground floor sash, first floor tripartite sash.
Original ridge stack. To rear a 2 light ground floor casement in brick,
first floor rendered. Added to right on entrance front a C19 bay with 2
light casements, cambered head on ground floor, right end stack,
dentilled gable end with a lean-to outshut. Large early C20 stuccoed
additions to rear right and to rear, slightly taller, sashes, that to
right with a hipped dormer and half hipped roof, that to rear with an
extruded stack. Interior: ground floor stop chamfered bearers, first
floor C17 plank door, clasped purlin roof with windbraces. (RCHM
