9/65 Boat-house on west bank
of the Lake,
approximately 20 metres
north of the Restaurant

Boat-house. Probably c1730 for John Aislabie. Gritstone. 2 vaults,
reached from a trap door in the path above. Lake front: 2 round arches; the
central wall dividing the shelters is obscured by a thick growth of ivy.
Interior not inspected. Although the lake was probably shallow boats were
taken out on it and are shown on a painting by B Nebot c1750. No
information has been found on any superstructure.
