Lodge. Mid C.1900. Dressed sandstone on sandstone ashlar plinth, with
chamfered ashlar quoins; slate roof. T-shaped on plan. 2-storey, 3-bay
front with full-height canted porch to centre. 4 attached dwarf Doric
columns on high plinths, with entablature, to ground floor of centre bay.
Round-headed door of 6 recessed panels in raised surround; 2-light mullion
window to first floor. Side bays are blind. Moulded cornice with mutules
across all bays. Shaped and coped parapet to centre bay, with recessed
circular panel carved with the Dawnay arms. Central corniced ridge stack.
Rear: 2 single lights in quoined surrounds to ground floor, and round-headed
window to first floor. Left and right gable walls: 3-window bows to ground
floor and Venetian windows above. Raking mutule cornices to gable ends.
Leaded lights and moulded sills to all windows. Lodge to Wykeham Abbey.
