Formerly a museum. Ground floor and basement are of stone and appear to be C17.
Basement has chamfered stone doorway with 4-centred arch. Ground floor has door-
way with double-ogee stop moulded wooden frame (restored) and nail-studded door with
ring handles. To right is an original 5-light stone mullioned and transomed window.
To left a modern 3-light mullion and transom window replaces former Gothic-style
crenellated bay. The 2 upper floors are jettied on moulded bressumer (structure
stucco probably over timber frame, rebuilt or altered in C19). Each storey has
4 pairs of wood casements with transoms and Caernarvon arch heads. Moulded wooden
band over 1st floor. Pantile roof, eaves altered (from inside it is obvious that
front was formerly gabled).
Interior: ground floor room to right, large fireplace with slightly cambered lintel
and traces of large herringbone brick fireback with pointed finials, cross beamed;
studded door with stop moulded ovolo surround. Hall has raised and fielded mid C18
panelling. Rear extension has modern staircase with blocked 3-light wooden mullion
window.
