Circa 1860. Sculptures by James Forsyth. Builders probably F and G Brown.
Architect possibly C E Giles. Built for Rev W J E Bennett. Rubble and ashlar
structure starting at north end with fountain and drinking well in large recess.
Recess is apsed with ribs and with cusped arch opening into gabled front.
Structure angled with steps leading up to north porch beside it. (The Church
steps up to west end start close by). Six sculptured scenes in gabled recesses
form the Way of the Cross. 7th scene (Crucifixion) in gable of north porch of the
Parish Church. Pointed arcades linking the scenes. Doorway between the 2 northern-
most scenes.
