Block of 4 houses. Mid C19. Uncoursed knapped flint with red brick
dressings and steep slate roof. 2 handed pairs of picturesque 2-storeys
houses facing W onto the common. Double-pile plan end chimneys houses
with rear wings. Show front with 2 conjoined gabled porches with
elaborate looped bargeboards, shouldered arches and frequent red brick
vertical quoined bands. Each house has 2 1st floor windows, 2-light over
porch and 3-light to side, and 3-light beside porch. Gauged chamfered
brick flat arches and surrounds to recessed sash windows with glazing
bars thickened to appear as casement windows. Included for group value.
