SO 71 NE CHURCHAM BULLEY

11/13 Merrick monument, in churchyard,
about 13m south-west of south-west
corner of Church of St. Michael

GV II

Pedestal tomb; 1830's; stone. Flat pyramid with step to top,
moulded edge. Below plain stone on 3 sides, rectangular panel for
lettering formed by double reed cut in surface, with inset
segmental head. West face slate with single reed forming
rectangle. Corners plain columns, without bases or capitals: all
on a moulded plinth. Inscriptions commemorate J. Merrick, 1772,
John Merrick, 1829, and Robert Merrick, 1837, last on the slate
face. Some italic lettering.
