Large house. C18 with C19 additions. Red brick with stone
dressings and parapet; Welsh slate roof. 2-storey classical house,
enlarged into L-plan with service wing. 2-storey 5-window main
facade, extended to 8 windows in C19; flat gauged brick arches,
very large sashes; doorway, central to earlier part, with
pedimented stone porch on paired Tuscan columns; coat of arms in
tympanum; tripartite window in extension. North-east facade of 6
windows. Hipped roof. South-west end has tripartite window and a
single storey entrance wing with arched porch: dressed stone arches
with keystones and imposts; parapet topped by corner urns; canted
bay window to left. In angle between the 2 wings of the building
an arched staircase sash. Brick chimneys with moulded stone caps.
Service wing to north greatly extended in C19: yellow brick, flat-
arched windows with sashes, hipped Welsh slate roofs. At far end
of service wing a coach house and courtyard with clock tower, all
in brick, topped by small timber dovecot with weather vane above a
tiled pyramidal roof.
Interior of main house has some contemporary fireplaces, and
shutters to all sash windows. Stands in a large landscaped park.
