Former stable with dovecot over, now National Trust Shop. Former
barn/stable now ticket office, and barn Late C18/early 19. Shop:
squared limestone. Ticket office: part squared limestone part
limestone rubble with 5 ashlar quoined and capped buttresses.
Barn: limestone rubble with ashlar quoined pilasters. All
buildings in range are under limestone slate roofs. Shop has flat
limestone coping to left gable end with roll-cross saddle and
decorative weather vane. Shop left with ticket office attached
right in turn attached to barn which runs forwards at right angles,
left. The whole forming an 'L' shaped plan. Shop: 2 storeys with
flat chamfered, stone-mullioned window to first floor with double
row of pigeon holes to right. C20 stable door with casement with
leaded lights right. Ticket office right: 2 storeys. C20
casement above central, C20 stable door. Barn has niche with
lion's head fountain with circular stone bowl and rectangular stone
trough below.
Interior. Shop retains iron, corner hay brackets. National Trust
property.
