Row of 3 adjoining cottages. Probably late C17 or early C18, Rose Cottage at right
end entirely remodelled in C20. Painted rendered stone rubble and cob. Half-hipped
thatch roof. Brick stack at left end and 3 axial brick stacks.
Plan: row of 3 adjoining cottages. Moorview at left end is of 2 rooms with entry
against the stack heating larger left-hand room and staircase to rear of smaller
right-hand room. Single storey outbuilding at left end, possibly originally a
smithy and later used as slaughter house, converted to form part of dwelling in C20.
Post Office to centre of 2 rooms, much altered in C20, and Rose Cottage at right
also of 2 rooms, entirely remodelled and partly rebuilt in C20.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Moorview has 3 window range. C19 fenestration 2 light
casements 4 panes per light above two 2-light casements 6-panes per light to right
of C20 door.
Single storey outbuilding at left end has small 4 panes window to left and C20
window to right of plank door. Post Office has 2 window range, C20 fenestration 2-
lights over 3-light casements. Rose Cottage has entirely C20 fenestration, 2- and 3-
light casements, the upper storey windows with slight eyebrow dormers.
Interior: of Moorview has chamfered unstopped cross ceiling beam to larger left-hand
room and rough timber lintel to fireplace. Right-hand room divided axially in C20
concealing original fireplace.
