Early C19. 4 storeys stucco front on an older, probably C16, building. Top storey
is set back and has wide eaves with brackets. Incised lines to quoins. French
casements to 1st and 2nd floors. Iron balconies with Greek ornament. 2 windows
on each floor. Modern shopfront. Roof not visible, Some internal features. Originally
a pair with No 46. An important feature is the 1st floor open gallery to C17 rear
block, original balusters.
Nos 39 to 47 (consec) form a group.
