Small house. Circa 1890s. Grey limestone rubble with red brick dressings ; slate
roof with deep eaves, gabled at ends; stone stack with red brick shaft. Eclectic
style with elements of Gothic and Vernacular Revival.
Plan: L plan with 2 blocks roofed at right angles to one another. Front door on
south into the front block. At the right and slightly set forward from the house, is
a garage which may be an adaptation of a service block.
Exterior: 2 storeys except for garage. Front gables of main range and garage both
decorated with half-timbering. Asymmetrical 1 window front. Original plank front
door to right of main range which has original 2-light timber windows with cranked
heads, transoms and glazing bars with small panes above the transoms. The left
return also has original windows including a small first floor oriel with similar
glazing, the oriel supported on grotesque Jacobean style carved brackets.
Interior: Not inspected.
Group value with Powderham Church, immediately opposite.
