No 68 is late C17 or early C18. 2 storeys and attics in coursed rubble. Roof
of stone slates. 2 hipped dormers, 2 windows in C19 restored stone surrounds,
with mullions. No 69 is similar, but more restored, 1 hipped and 2 gabled dormers.
C16 doorway with squared architrave with ornamented spandrels, much restored.
Also C20 2-storey stone bow window.
These 2 houses are now part of the George Hotel. They possibly incorporate
remains of a medieval chapel.
Nos 39 to 43 (consec), Garden Wall to No 43, No 44, Wall to No 44, Nos 45 to 70
(consec), Garden Wall to Nos 68and 69 with Burghley Almshouses form a group.
