Late C15 or early C16 hall house standing back circa 50 yds from street. 2
storeys timber-framed and plastered. Red plain tile roof. 3 bays of hall and
cross wing. Late C16 chimney stack at north-east end and C17 central stack with
6 octagonal shafts, apparently partially rebuilt in C18. Much of the original
frame remains internally and there is also a late C16 inserted floor, C17 door,
and some early moulded plank panelling. The building now incorporates an adjoining
cottage of circa 1600. 3 gables to rear. Double hung sashes with glazing bars
and some horizontal sliding sashes to 1st floor. Central porch with red plain
tile roof (RCHM 30).
